| |
Horse Race Pavilion, also called Lingyun Attic, was built
in late of Ming Dynasty (1787 A.D.) by Hu Guansan, who was
the twenty-fourth generation of Hu¡¯s Family and one of the
top six merchant prince in south of Yangtze River, to welcome
Cao Zhenyong, his relative by marriage who assisted three
Emperors in Qing Dynasty (Emperor Qianlong, Jiaqing, Daoguang
) and was highly favored by the Emperors above. For the
moment, this building is a place for ¡°selecting son-in-law¡±
in order to enrich tourist program and enhance their interests.
So there are some local folkways, for instance throwing
embroidery ball and selecting the groom. |
